STUDENTS LAUNCH CHARITY MOVEMENT TO END HUNGER IN NORTHEAST OHIO

Charity Concert Returns to Tackle Hunger around {City}

[CLEVELAND, OHIO, JANUARY 2025] — John Carroll University students are taking crucial action to combat hunger in Northeast Ohio with the return of ‘Blizzard Bash’. All of the proceeds of the annual charity concert series go towards benefitting ‘The Hunger Network’ of Cleveland Ohio. This year’s event, scheduled for Saturday, February 8, 2025, at the Beachland Tavern, aims to break last year's record of donating over 12,000 meals through the power of music.

“Hunger doesn’t end in December, the time of giving is truly year-round” says Zachary ‘DJ Z13’ Sinutko, lead organizer for ‘Blizzard Bash’ and events director for WJCU 88.7 FM. Sinutko continues, “Last year was amazing, but there is more work to be done, and I know we can break the record” referring to the over 12,000 meals donated from last year's event. Blizzard Bash is organized and presented by John Carroll University’s on-campus radio station WJCU 88.7 FM.

A Night of Making an Impact Through Music

As announced on social media earlier in the week, the lineup for this year's Blizzard Bash will be announced in the forthcoming days. This year's event is powered by the generosity of our matching and partnering sponsors Crown Royal, Mission BBQ, and the Lakewood/Beachwood Truck Park. The goal for this year's event is to surpass last year's total of 12,000 meals donated.

Current Guinness World Record holder Zachary ‘DJ Z13’ Sinutko (Troy Michigan native) alongside internationally recognized co-hosts Emily Davala (Canton Ohio native) and Jayden Beddingfield (Cleveland Ohio native) are the students involved in this year's event. In addition to them, University Heights Civic Award winners Jason Patrick Meyers and Eric Simna will be returning this year as fellow presenters and the creators of Blizzard Bash.

How to Join The Movement?

With over 70 hunger centers placed in and around the Cleveland area, The Hunger Network provides food and supplies to those in the area who need it the most. Every $25 donated to this year's event will help provide approximately 75 meals to those in need. The Hunger Network is also a 501(c)(3) organization that has been approved by the Internal Revenue Service as a tax-exempt, charitable organization. Donations for this year's event can be made at any time at the following site: https://give.hungernetwork.org/blizzardbash.

The flyer for this year's event has been posted to social media and is attached here (created by Zachary Sinutko).
